About

The Cottage was originally two properties, being nrs 7 & 9 Strand Street. Immediately to the right of the cottage is “The Olde Tavern” and to the rear is “The White Hart” both of which were originally public houses however both are now private homes.

The cottages, we understand, were originally part of the outbuildings to these establishments and local history books quote cock fighting being carried out in the rear courtyard!

Since purchasing in February 2006 we have set about restoring and upgrading the cottage into one large family orientated holiday home.

Our aim is to carryout a sympathetic restoration whilst retaining a wealth of character and features however providing modern amenities and homely comforts.

Moreover we want the property to be a “home from home” rather than the usual décor and furnishings provided in holiday cottages which are usually cheap but robust.
